Matthews
earns The Summit League's Player of the Week award after helping
the Ladies win the ULM Mardi Gras Tournament. The freshman from
The Woodlands, Texas, belted her first collegiate home run against
SEMO and scored the winning run vs. Central Arkansas. Matthews hit
.538 (7-for-13) over the weekend, scoring four runs and driving in
three. Her RBI in the first inning against Louisiana-Monroe was
the winning run as it proved to be the difference. At the
conclusion of the tournament, Matthews was named to the
all-tournament team.

Padilla
was named The Summit League's Pitcher of the Week after she tallied
four wins and posted a 0.42 ERA at the Southeast Louisiana Lion
Classic. The Chino, Calif., native recorded nine strikeouts in
16.2 innings and only allowed one earned run. The senior
right-hander currently leads The Summit League in ERA (0.42) and is
tied for first with four wins. Padilla has matched her
single-season win total (4) from 2006, 2007 and 2008 in just four
games this season. She also hurled a career-high eight innings vs.
Tennesee-Martin.
