North Dakota State's Mike Nelson Named Summit League Player of the Week

ELMHURST, Ill. – North Dakota State's Mike Nelson earned his first Summit League Player of the Week honor after averaging 20.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists in a pair of victories. He shot 70.8 percent from the field, 66.7 percent from beyond the arc and 100 percent from the line.

In a league win over South Dakota State, Nelson had 18 points and six rebounds with two assists and one steal while hitting 7-of-10 field goals and 4-of-5 three-point attempts. In the ESPNU BracketBuster victory at Milwaukee, Nelson tied a season-high with 22 points and added eight boards, three assists and one steal while going 10-of-14 from the field and connecting on both free throw attempts.

Nelson led the Bison in rebounding in both contests last week and extended his consecutive starts streak to 84 games. He also moved into ninth place on the NDSU career scoring list with 1,512 points.
