Oakland's Johnathon Jones Named Summit League Player of the Week

ELMHURST, Ill. – Oakland University's Johnathon Jones earned Summit League Player of the Week after averaging 15.0 points and 12.5 assists per game and recording his first two double-doubles of the season while leading the Golden Grizzlies to a pair of league victories.

Jones scored 17 points and tied a career-high with 13 assists to help Oakland snap Oral Roberts' eight-game winning streak in a 12-point triumph. In the contest, Jones connected on all three of his three-point attempts and had three rebounds. Two nights later, Jones scored 13 points and added 12 assists with four rebounds in a 13-point victory over Centenary. He set a career high by making 11 of his 12 free throw attempts.

Jones shot 62 percent (8-of-13) for the week and hit 60 percent (3-of-5) from beyond the arc. His 25 assists moved him into 10th-place on The Summit League's career list with 488.

The honor was the second of the season for Jones, who also claimed the league's weekly accolade on Nov. 24.
