NDSU's Chmielewski, Centenary's Bock Named Softball Athletes of the Week

Chmielewski
earns The Summit League's Player of the Week award after batting
.538 (7-for-13) with two doubles, three runs scored and four RBIs
over the weekend. The
junior first baseman helped lead North Dakota State to a 2-1 league
record to open Summit League play with victories over Southern
Utah. Chmielewski has a team-high eight multi-hit games this
season. On the NDSU career charts, she is fifth in slugging
percentage (.595), sixth in home runs (21) and eighth in batting
average (.358) and RBIs (117).

Bock
was named The Summit League's Pitcher of the Week after she tossed
a no-hitter in the Ladies' league opener versus IPFW. The sophomore
right-hander had two appearances over the weekend in which she
fanned six batters in 10.0 innings of work, while only allowing one
earned run. Bock hurled
Centenary's second no-hitter of the season as she went the distance
in an 8-0 win over the Mastodons on Saturday. On the season, Bock
has a 10-5 record and a 2.55 ERA.
