SDSU's Paluch and IPFW's Ballus Earn Weekly Tennis Awards

Paluch
claimed the Men's Player of the Week award after going 5-0 in
singles play with three doubles wins at the Orlando Classic. Four
of Paluch's five singles wins came at the No. 1 position including
triumphs over foes from Connecticut and Valparaiso that extended
his win streak to seven matches. His three doubles victories came
consecutively over duos from Valpo, LaSalle and St. Joseph's.
Paluch is now 12-9 on the season in singles and 11-7 in
doubles.

Ballus earned
the Women's Player of the Week award after posting a 3-0 singles
record and a 2-0 mark in doubles play. During the week, Ballus
defeated Southeast Missouri's Elise Nattier (6-4, 6-1), Alabama
A&M's Me'Shala Johnson (6-1, 7-5) and Lipscomb's Kara Jackson
(6-3, 3-6, 6-1). Her victory over her Lipscomb opponent was the
clinching win for the Mastodons. In doubles play, Ballus teamed
with Yuka Kobayashi for an 8-7 (8) win over SEMO and an 8-3 triumph
over Lipscomb. Ballus is 14-3 in singles and 10-6 in doubles this
season.
