SDSU's Hughes and ORU's Costa Earn Weekly Tennis Awards

Hughes
claimed the Men's Player of the Week award after going 2-0 in
singles play and adding a doubles victory. Saturday against St.
Cloud State, Hughes topped Joe Hodgson in a tiebreaker, 3-6, 6-4
(10-2). In doubles play, he teamed up with Wade Kippley at No. 3
for an 8-5 victory over the Huskies. Later in the day, Hughes won
in straight sets, 6-1, 6-4, over Chris Voight of St. John's
(Minn.).

Costa earned
the Women's Player of the Week award after going 3-0 in singles
play and 4-0 in doubles action to help Oral Roberts to a 3-1 dual
record at the Summit League Cluster in Las Vegas. She defeated
IPFW's Sachi Janek in straight sets and teamed with Tayler Pippin
for a doubles win over Janek/Recht, 9-8 (7). Against Southern Utah,
Costa rallied from a first set defeat to claim the next two sets,
6-4 and 6-3, over Emmi Nelson-Bulloch. Teaming with Pippin, the ORU
duo topped Nelson-Bulloch/Blanco 8-3 in a Golden Eagle victory.
Costa also posted a 6-0, 6-0 singles win vs. Centenary and in
doubles, teamed with Pippin for an 8-0 win over the Ladies' duo and
a 8-1 victory over IUPUI.
