earns The Summit League's Player of the Week award for the second
time this season after she hit .833 (5-for-6) over the weekend to
help Southern Utah to a 2-1 series win over IPFW. The sophomore from Las Vegas, Nev.,
led SUU with eight RBIs in Friday's doubleheader. Fernandez also belted her eighth home
run of the season, hit a double, scored two runs and drew three
walks. She leads the league
with 33 RBIs and is second in the league with eight
roundtrippers.

was named The Summit League's Pitcher of the Week after she tossed
a pair of no-hitters, one of which was a perfect game, last
week. The senior from
Chino, Calif., went 3-1 with a 1.04 ERA in 27 innings pitched with
14 strikeouts. She hurled
the first no-hitter at Creighton on Wednesday then came back to
toss a five-inning perfect game at UMKC on Saturday. Padilla recorded the eighth perfect
game in NDSU history and the first since 2006. Her 12 wins this season match her
combined total over the previous three seasons.
