UMKC Sweeps Summit League Tennis Awards

Berryman
claimed the Men's Player of the Week award after posting a 3-0
record in singles matches at The Summit League Cluster in Tulsa.
All three of Berryman's wins came at the No. 1 position, including
two straight sets victories. Berryman topped IUPUI's Gregory Sosa,
6-7 (1), 6-2, 6-4, before disposing of Western Illinois' Zach
Frisch, 6-2, 6-4, and IPFW's Hermann Kuschke, 7-6 (3), 6-3, during
weekend league matches to improve to 7-6 on the season. UMKC's 3-0
Summit League start is its best since 2004-05.

Amelunge
earned the Women's Player of the Week award after posting a 2-0
singles record and a 2-0 doubles mark against Creighton and South
Dakota. Her two straight-set singles victories came at the No. 2
position, besting CU's Lauren Mastro, 6-3, 6-2 and USD's Rijalda
Zejnic, 6-3, 6-0. In doubles play, Amelunge teamed with Jillian
Yakominich to defeat the Bluejays team of Mastro/Schmidt, 8-4,
before blanking the Coyote duo of Hagen/Deragisch, 8-0. Amelunge
has won her last six matches, three singles and three doubles, and
with Yakominich has a team best 5-4 doubles record this
season.
