UMKC's Berryman, IPFW's Recht Earn Weekly Tennis Awards

claimed the Men's Player of the Week honor after winning his
singles match and teaming to win a doubles match in UMKC's 7-0
victory over Creighton. At the No. 1 singles position, Berryman
rallied to defeat CU's Jose Guerra 5-7, 6-4, 7-6 (4). In No. 1
doubles, Berryman and teammate Patrick Smith bested the Bluejays'
Gabe Nagy/Brian Ward, 9-7. Berryman's third victory at No. 1 and
his second straight singles win improved his season record to 3-2
while his doubles record with Smith was extended to a perfect
5-0.

Recht earned
her second Women's Player of the Week award of the season by going
4-0 in singles and doubles play against Green Bay and Milwaukee. In
singles, Recht defeated UWGB's Emily Lawent, 6-3, 6-1 and bested
UWM's Kelly Drvaric, 3-6, 7-5, 7-5. Recht paired with Sachi Janek
in doubles and the duo cruised to an 8-1 win over the Phoenix's
Jurgella/Weuve and an 8-2 triumph over the Panthers'
Schoen/Schoneman. The wins upped Recht's season mark to 10-1 in
singles play and 7-4 in doubles.
