Western Illinois Sweeps Final Tennis Player of the Week Honors

collected the Men's Player of Week award after a straight-set
singles win and a doubles victory over SIU-Edwardsville. In his
singles match, Lesinski rolled to a 6-0, 6-1, victory over SIUE's
Cole Garrison at the No. 3 position for his fifth consecutive win
and 10th of the season. Lesinski paired with Sean
Ragee-Nelson at No. 1 doubles and scored an 8-6 win over SIUE's
Gonzalez/Chamberlain.

Baumer earned
the Women's Player of the Week award after going a combined 4-0
during The Summit League Cluster in Macomb. Of her seven sets
played, Baumer won five without allowing a game and yielded just
five total games to her opponents over the weekend. Baumer
collected three straight-set victories at No. 4 over ORU's Ana
Costa, 6-0, 7-6 (3), Centenary's Arielle Schuman, 6-0, 6-0, and
Oakland's Caitlin Young, 6-3, 6-0, and held a 6-0 advantage on
South Dakota State's Nellie Bloomberg. In doubles play, Baumer
teamed with Yana Meinert at No. 3 for an 8-2 triumph over SDSU's
McDougall/Goeden. Baumer extended her singles win streak to four
and improved her overall record to 21-12.
