Oakland Sweeps Athlete Of The Week Honors

Jones earned The Summit League Men's Athlete of the Week after winning the Golden Grizzly Invitational in Rochester, Mich., on Saturday. The senior finished first among 72 competitors with a personal best time of 18:38. Jones was the only runner to finish the 6K race in less than 19 minutes.

Kelsey Carmean, Oakland
Jr., Ortonville, Mich./Ortonville-Brandon

Carmean claimed the Female Athlete of the Week honor after winning the Golden Grizzly Invitational with a personal best of 18:20. The Ortonville, Mich., native led a field of 70 runners that included competitors from fellow Summit League member IPFW as well as Detroit and Oakland C.C.
