Southern Utah's Baker Named Player of the Week

ELMHURST, Ill. - Southern Utah's Davis Baker was named Summit
League Player of the Week, his first award of the season and second
of his career, for his performance Jan. 4-10. Baker led his team to
its first league win of the season, an overtime triumph over
defending league champion North Dakota State.
Against NDSU on Thursday, Baker tied his career-high with 34
points, including 10 of his team's 16 overtime points. He went
3-for-3 from the floor, including a pair of three-pointers, and was
2-for-2 from the line in the extra session. Overall, Baker hit
13-of-23 shots (.565) and 6-of-7 treys (.857) while pulling down
five rebounds and recording a steal.
Two nights later, Baker led SUU with 16 points and was the
team's second-leading rebounder with six in a loss to South Dakota
State, who notched its fifth-consecutive league win.
For the week, Baker averaged 25.0 points and 5.5 boards while
shooting 54.3 percent from the field, 60.0 percent from three-point
range and 100 percent from the free throw line.
