ORU's Sobolta and Semenova Claim Initial Tennis Player of the Week Honors
ELMHURST, Ill. - Oral Roberts' Igor Sobolta and Lina Semenova
claimed the initial Summit League's men's and women's tennis player
of the week awards for their performances during the season's first
weekend of play.

Sobolta posted a singles win and an upset doubles victory over No.
34 Tulsa as Oral Roberts went 1-2 in its opening weekend. The
sophomore Ukrainian posted a 6-1, 6-2 triumph of Arkansas-Pine
Bluff's Eduardo Lugue at the No. 2 singles position in a 4-1 ORU
victory. Against nationally-ranked Tulsa, Sobolta teamed with
Mikhail Trukshanin to defeat the duo of Stephens/Turpin, 8-6, at
the No. 1 position. In his singles match vs. No. 71 Artem Baradach
of SMU, Sobolta rolled to a 6-0 opening set win and fell 7-6 in set
two before the match was called.
Lina Semenova, Oral Roberts
So., Minsk, Belarus
Semenova teamed with Tayler Pippin to knock off Memphis'
No. 1 team of Murdock/Collins, 8-6, to highlight ORU's matches
against the Tigers and No.36 Tulsa. Semenova went 1-1 at the No. 1
doubles position and dropped her two singles matches at the No. 1
position.
