CC's Penney, SUU's Ostler, OU's Weber Collect Women's Soccer Awards
ELMHURST, Ill. - Centenary's Holden Penney and Southern Utah's
Shleby Ostler, along with Oakland's Kara Weber were named The
Summit League's Co-Offensive and Defensive Women's Soccer Players
of the Week for their performances Oct. 18-24.
CO-OFFENSIVE PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
Holden Penney, Centenary
So., F (Laguna Beach, Calif./Laguna Beach)
Penney earns her first career Offensive Player of
the Week honor after leading Centenary to its first league win of
the season with a 2-1 win over UMKC. The sophomore scored the
game-winner in the 57th minute and assisted on the
Ladies' first goal of the match. She also added an assist on
Centenary's first goal in the double overtime loss to Southern
Utah. For the week, Penney recorded four points on two assists and
a game-winning goal.
Shelby Ostler, Southern Utah
So., F (Riverton, Utah/Riverton)
Ostler collects her first career Offensive Player of
the Week award after scoring two goals on the week. The sophomore
notched her second multi-goal match in four matches with two goals
in the 3-2 double overtime victory over Centenary. Ostler is second
on the team with five goals, fourth of which have come in Summit
League play.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Kara Weber, Oakland
So., D (Calgary, Alberta/Bishop O'Byrne)
Weber captures her second Defensive Player of the
Week award after helping Oakland clinch at least a share of The
Summit League regular season title and a berth into the league
tournament. In a 2-0 win over IUPUI, the sophomore shut down Megan
Hock (the second leading scorer in the league), while limiting the
Jaguars to just two shots on goal. She notched an assist in a 2-1
win over Western Illinois. Weber led a Golden Grizzly defense that
limited the Fighting Leathernecks to just one shot on goal and five
total shots in the match.
