OU's Evans and IUPUI'S Bourgeois Earn Swimming and Diving Weekly Honors

ELMHURST, Ill. - Oakland's Nick Evans and IUPUI's Lizzie Bourgeois were named Summit League Swimming and Diving Athletes of the Week for their performances during the week of Oct. 18-24.


MEN
Nick Evans, Oakland

Evans earns his first career Swimming and Diving Athlete of the Week award after posting two league top times in the Golden Grizzlies' meet against regional opponents Michigan and Notre Dame. He swam the 200 Free in 1:40.87 and the 500 Free in 4:35.00, the top marks for Oakland and The Summit League this season. Only three weeks into the season, Evans' times would have placed him among the top-five league times last season.

WOMEN
Lizzie Bourgeois, IUPUI

Bourgeois captures her first career Swimming and Diving Athlete of the Week honor after winning four individual event titles and a relay title last week. She helped her squad to a victory over Summit League foe, Eastern Illinois (132-76), despite a loss to Centre College (110-95) and finally a third-place finish at the Indiana Intercollegiates. Bourgeois recorded first-place finishes in the 200 Free (1:59.94), the third-best league time and the 200 Fly (2:16.50), the second-best league time, against the Panthers. She also recorded three event wins in IUPUI's loss to Centre, winning the 50 Free (25.31) and 100 Free (54.80), the second and third best league times in each event, along with her relay team victory in the 200 IM (1:56.41).
