IUPUI's Meeks and IPFW's McGill Garner Final Weekly Volleyball Honors
ELMHURST, Ill. - IUPUI's Alexis Meeks and IPFW Tessa McGill were named Summit League Offensive and Defensive Volleyball Players of the Week for their performances Nov. 8-16.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Alexis Meeks, IUPUI

Meeks earns her first career Offensive Player of the Week award after leading the Jaguars to a sweep over Western Illinois to end the regular season. She ran the Jaguar offense handing out 45 assists, averaging 15.00 assists per set, and led the team to a .333 clip. Meeks added 12 digs to average 4.00 per set, three kills, a .400 hitting percentage and two blocks. She finished her freshman campaign ranked sixth in the league in assists in overall (9.10) and league (9.19) matches.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

McGill captures her third career Defensive Player of the Week award and third of the season after helping the Mastodons split league matches to end the season, defeating UMKC (3-2) and falling to Southern Utah (3-0). She started off the weekend with 35 digs, averaging 7.0 per set, in IPFW's five-set victory over UMKC to secure a share of the regular season title and the No. 1 seed in the league tournament. McGill went on to record 20 digs in the Mastodons' loss to the Thunderbirds, averaging 6.7 per set. For the Week, she totaled 55 digs to average 6.88 per set. She currently ranks in the top-50 in the nation in digs per set (46th/4.97) and third in the league in overall (4.97) matches and fourth in league only (4.38).
