SDSU's Schoreit and OU's Balogh Garner Swimming and Diving Weekly Honors
ELMHURST, Ill. - South Dakota State's Brad Schoreit and
Oakland's Vanessza Balogh were named Summit League Swimming and
Diving Athletes of the Week for their performances during the week
of Oct. 25-31.

Brad Schoreit, South Dakota State

Schoreit collects his third career Swimming and Diving
Athlete of the Week honor and first of the season after helping the
Jackrabbits defeat Summit League foe Western Illinois (134-75). He
placed first in the 1-meter dive with a score of 253.15, the second
best league score this season. Schoreit then went on to win the
3-meter dive with a school record and league best score of
288.35.

Vanessza Balogh, Oakland

Balogh earns her second career Swimming and Diving Athlete
of the Week honor after leading the Golden Grizzlies to wins over
Akron (180-15) and Wayne State (196-95). She started off the
weekend with three first-place finishes against Akron, including a
league-best 1:53.60 in the 200 Free. Balogh came back the next day
to win three more events, which included a school-record breaking
time and league best 10:06.82 in the 1,000 Free, her time is nearly
15 seconds faster than last season's best time. She now holds the
fastest league times in the 200, 500 and 1,000 Free, the 200 Breast
and the 400 IM, all of which she recorded this past weekend minus
the 500 Free.
