South Dakota State Sweeps Swimming and Diving Athletes of the Week

ELMHURST, Ill. - South Dakota State's Chris Schreier and Jessica Ferley were named Summit League Swimming and Diving Athletes of the Week for their performances during the week of Nov. 15-21.


MEN
Chris Schreier, South Dakota State

Fr., Portage, Ind./Portage
Schreier earns his third career Swimming and Diving Athlete of the Week award after setting two school and pool records and helping the Jackrabbits defeat Summit League foe South Dakota, 183.5-110.5. He won three individual events and was a part of a winning relay team against the Coyotes. Schreier captured the 200 Free, 100 Fly, where he broke his own school and pool record with a time of :50.96, the second fastest league time of the season, and 400 IM, where he set a pool record of 4:06.88, the second-best league time. He was also part of the first place 200 IM Relay team that set a new school record of 1:36.04, marking the fourth-best league time this season.

WOMEN
Jessica Ferley, South Dakota State

Ferley collects her first career Swimming and Diving Athlete of the Week honor after helping South Dakota State split its double dual last weekend, defeating league rival South Dakota (183-111) and falling to Nebraska. She was part of the first place 200 Free Relay team, finishing with a time of 1:39.06, and the 200 IM Relay team that was third overall and first against USD with a time of 1:50.42. Her relay times each were second-best league times this season. Individually, Ferley took second overall and finished first against the Coyotes in the 100 Back and the 500 Free.
