Oakland's Benson Named Player of the Week
ELMHURST, Ill. - Oakland's Keith Benson was named Summit League
Player of the Week for his performance during the week of Nov.
22-28.

Benson averaged 22 points, 14 rebounds, 4.7 blocked shots and
three assists in three games during the week. In a victory over
Austin Peay, Benson pulled down a career-high and an Oakland
Division I record 22 rebounds, tying the fifth-highest single-game
total in Summit League history, while scoring 22 points, dishing
out a career-best seven assists, and blocking six shots. Benson
also blocked six shots at Wright State, while totaling 25 points
and seven boards, and added a 19-point, 13-rebound, 2-block
performance in a win over Southern. For the week, Benson shot 57.5
percent from the field and 77 percent from the free throw line. The
award was the first of the season for Benson and the seventh career
honor for The Summit League's reigning Player of the Year.
