SDSU's Schreier and USD's Hoffman Named Swimming and Diving Athletes of the Week

ELMHURST, Ill. - South Dakota State's Chris Schreier and South Dakota's Elizabeth Hoffman were named Summit League Swimming and Diving Athletes of the Week for their performances during the week of Nov. 1-7.


MEN
Chris Schreier, South Dakota State
Fr., Portage, Ind./Portage
Schreier earns his second career Swimming and Diving Athlete of the Week award of the season after setting two school and pool records in the Jackrabbits loss to Green Bay (122.5-120.5). He won the 200 Free and 200 Fly, where he won the event by more than seven seconds, setting a school and pool record of 1:51.96, the fastest league time of the season. Schreier was then part of the first-place 400 IM Relay team that also set a school and pool record with a time of 3:29.89, the second best in the league.

WOMEN
Elizabeth Hoffman, South Dakota

Hoffman earns her second career Swimming and Diving Athlete of the Week and her first of the season after winning all five individual events she competed in last week and setting two South Dakota pool records. She started off the weekend against Northern Iowa by winning the 50 Free, matching the second best league time she set earlier this season (24:56), 1,000 Free (10:36.77), the fifth best league time, and the 200 Back (2:10.69), the third best league time, and was a part of the first-place 200 Free Relay team (1:39.88), the third best league time. Hoffman then went on to win the 200 and 400 Free against Green Bay and was a part of the 200 Free Relay team that set a USD pool record of 1:51.62, in which she also set a 50 Free pool record of 27.36.
