Oakland Sweeps Swimming and Diving Athletes of the Week
ELMHURST, Ill. - Oakland's Marcin Unold and Vanessza Balogh were
named Summit League Swimming and Diving Athletes of the Week for
their performances during the week of Nov. 29-Dec. 5.
MEN
Marcin Unold, Oakland
Sr., Gliwice, Poland/SMS Oswiecim
Unold earns his first award of the season and ninth career
honor after recording seven B cut times and posting league best
times in every event he swam in at the A&T Short Course
National Championships against swimmers from four top-10 ranked
teams (No. 1 Texas, No. 6 Michigan, No. 8 Ohio State and No. 10
Indiana). He set league best times in the 50 Free (20.36), 100
Free (44.37), 100 Back (47.90) and was a part of the 200 Free Relay
(1:21.58), 400 Free Relay (2:58.71), 800 Free (6:35.61), 200 IM
Relay (1:30.11) and 400 IM Relay (3:17.19) teams that set
league-best times. Unold recorded B cut times in the 100 Free, 200
Free, 100 Back, 200 Free Relay, 400 Free Relay, 800 Free Relay, and
400 IM Relay.

Balogh garners her third career Swimming and Diving
Athlete of the Week honor after setting three school records, a
meet record and two B cut performances at the Miami Invitational
last weekend. She set school records in the 500 Free (4:50.30),
1,000 Free (10:01.05) and 1,650 Free (16:47.28), while also
breaking a 12-year old meet record in the 500 Free and recording B
cut marks and first-place finishes in the 500 and 1,650 Free.
Balogh's times in the 500, 1,000 and 1,650 Free along with the 400
IM (4:23.83) and the 200 Breast (2:23.15) at the Miami Invitational
each mark the fastest league times of the season.
