NDSU's Rivera, WIU's Ferguson Collect Weekly Softball Honors

Rivera captures her first Player of the Week award of the season
after hitting .500 for the week, with nine hits, seven runs scored,
and four stolen bases. The Lakeside, Calif., native matched a
career-high with three hits against Michigan State (3-for-4) and
Wright State (3-for-5) and matched career-highs by scoring three
runs and stealing two bases against Hofstra.

Ferguson earns her first Pitcher of the Week honor
of the season after throwing her first career no-hitter and
recording a 2-0 record, 0.00 ERA and recording 10 strikeouts in 12
innings of work last week. Against Tennessee Tech, the Clinton,
Ill., native struck out four batters without allowing a walk in the
five-inning no-hitter. In a seven-inning performance against
Mercer, Ferguson yielded just five hits and recorded six
strikeouts. Ferguson was named Most Outstanding Pitcher of the
Tournament and was an All-Tournament Team selection.
