Oakland's Benson Named Player of the Week

ELMHURST, Ill. - Oakland's Keith Benson was named Summit League
Player of the Week for his performance during the week of Feb.
22-28. The center posted a career-high 32 points in the Golden
Grizzlies' victory over IPFW to claim his fifth season honor and
sixth career accolade.
Benson's 32 points came on 11-of-14 shooting from the field
(78.6 percent), including a three-pointer on his only attempt in
the game, and 9-of-12 at the free throw line. The center notched
his league-leading 16th double-double by pulling down 10
rebounds while also adding four blocked shots and one assist to
help his team set Summit League records for victories (17) and
winning percentage (.944).
Benson has a school-record 102 blocked shots on the season, the
fourth-highest total in Summit League history, and ranks second
all-time in career blocks with 229. His 311 season rebounds rank
third in school history and his 217 defensive rebounds are an
Oakland record.
