IPFW's Sigaud, UMKC's Bouet Named Summit League Tennis Players of the Week
ELMHURST, Ill. - IPFW's Francisco Sigaud and UMKC's Laura
Bouet were named Summit League men's and women's tennis players of
the week for their performances Feb. 23-March 1.
Francisco Sigaud, IPFW
So., Sao Paulo, Brazil/St. Francis
Sigaud earned his first career accolade after posting
victories at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles to help IPFW to a 4-3
win over Dayton. After falling behind early, Sigaud rallied for a
1-6, 6-2, 7-5 victory over UD's Matt Sherman. In doubles play,
Sigaud and Justin Collins notched a 9-7 win over UD's duo of
Sherman and West.

Bouet garnered his first career honor with a pair of
straight-set victories at No. 2 singles against Missouri Valley
opponents. Against Drake, Bouet scored a 6-4, 6-0 triumph over
Gabriela Demos. The following day, Bouet posted a 6-1, 6-1 win over
Northern Iowa's Laia Gonzalez-Garrido. Bouet now has nine
victories on the season, the most by a UMKC player since 1999-2000,
and has a 5-3 record this spring.
