SDSU Sweeps Baseball Player of the Week Awards

PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Jesse Sawyer, South Dakota State
Jr., Calgary, Alberta/Central Memorial
Sawyer captures the Player of the Week award after batting .625 and helping the Jackrabbits to three wins at Air Force last week. The junior had three hits in three of the four games and collected three home runs with nine RBI and eight runs scored. Sawyer also drew six walks to go along with his 10 hits with a 1.188 slugging percentage and .739 on-base percentage. The Calgary, Alberta, native now has 22 homers in 63 career games.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Trever Vermeulen, South Dakota State
Jr., Mitchell, S.D./Mitchell
Vermeulen garners Pitcher of the Week honors after picking up two wins in relief in the doubleheader at Air Force for SDSU. The junior threw 6.2 innings, striking out 10 batters and giving up no walks. He collected a 1.35 ERA, surrendering just one run on five hits.
