Softball Weekly Awards Announced

Melissa Chmielewski, North Dakota State

Chmielewski wins her second Player of the Week award this season
after hitting .438 (7-for-16), with two doubles, a grand slam and
14 RBI at the Colorado State Classic last week. The senior from
Circle Pines, Minn., recorded her third grand slam of the season in
a 9-1 win over Utah State. On the North Dakota State career charts,
Chmielewski ranks third all-time in RBI (185), is tied for third in
home runs (33), is fourth in slugging percentage (.617) and is tied
for fifth in doubles (42).

Anna Sokolik, UMKC
So., Bettendorft, Iowa/Pleasant Valley
Sokolik collect her first Pitcher of the Week honor of the
season after pitching 13.0 innings, posting a 1.38 ERA, striking
out ten and recording a 1-1 record. The Bettendorf, Iowa, native
only gave up runs in one inning of the 13 innings pitched and two
total earned runs. Sokolik struck out a career-high six batters
against Missouri State.
