Chmielewski claims her league-best fourth weekly honor of the
season after reaching safely in all nine plate appearances against
South Dakota State. The senior first baseman batted 1.000 (6-for-6)
and slugged 1.333 and drew three walks during the weekend series.
Chmielewski scored three runs and hit two doubles in the two games
against SDSU. In game one of Saturday's doubleheader, Chmielewski
went 3-for-3 with a walk and a run scored before going 3-for-3 with
two walks and a pair of runs in the nitecap.

Friese posted a pair of shutout victories in a sweep
of Oakland to claim her first career award. In her two wins, Friese
struck out 25 batters in 12.0 innings of work while yielding just
three hits and two walks and combining to face just five over the
minimum. In her first start of the series, Friese fanned 12 in 5.0
innings while allowing just two hits and facing only two over the
minimum. In her next outing, Friese tossed a one-hitter with 13
strikeouts and two walks over 7.0 innings.
