ORU's Brannan, NDSU's Stratton Earn Weekly Awards

ELMHURST, Ill. - Oral Roberts' Whitney Brannan and North Dakota State's Abbey Stratton were named The Summit League's Offensive and Defensive Women's Soccer Players of the Week for their performances Sept. 7-12.


OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Whitney Brannan, Oral Roberts
Fr., M (Bixby, Okla./Victory Christian)
Brannan was named Offensive Player of the Week after collecting her first two collegiate goals in a 3-1 victory over Lamar last week, that helped snap the Golden Eagles' two-match losing streak. The freshman tallied the first goal of the match in the eighth minute before providing ORU with an insurance goal in the 79th minute to secure the win.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Abbey Stratton, North Dakota State
Jr., D (Champlin, Minn./Champlin Park)
Stratton collects her third straight Defensive Player of the Week honor, a Summit League record, after being named the Defensive MVP of the Miami Hurricane Cup last week. The junior held Florida Atlantic's top two scorers to one shot combined in the 2-1 win and anchored a defense that surrendered just one goal against 16 Miami shots. Stratton also assisted on the game-winner against FAU and registered an assist in the 2-2 draw at Creighton.
