SDSU's Braffet, OU's Weber Earn Women's Soccer Weekly Awards
ELMHURST, Ill. - South Dakota State's Kayla Braffet and
Oakland's Kara Weber were named The Summit League's Offensive and
Defensive Women's Soccer Players of the Week for their performances
Sept. 20-27.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Kayla Braffet, South Dakota State
Jr., F (Carlock, Ill./Normal Community West)
Braffet earns her first career Offensive Player of
the Week honor after scoring the game-winning goal against Iowa
State last week. In the 56th minute, Braffet collected a
corner kick from teammate Christa Nyblom in front of the net to
score the game-winner. Coming into the match, the Cyclones had a
5-2-2 record and are currently tied for third place in the Big 12,
while the Jackrabbits improved to 5-1-3 with the win.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Kara Weber, Oakland
So., D (Calgary, Alberta/Bishop O'Byrne)
Weber collects Defensive Player of the Week honors,
the first of her career, after leading Oakland to a 2-1 victory at
Butler last week. The sophomore led the defensive effort holding
Butler's leading scorer to just one shot on goal in the match.
Weber also netted a corner kick from Dani Haelewyn in the
86th minute for the game-winner.
