Oakland's Benson Named Player of the Week
ELMHURST, Ill. - Oakland's Keith Benson was named Summit League
Player of the Week for his performance during the week of Jan.
18-23.

Benson earns his third award of the season and ninth career
honor after posting a pair of double-double performances, setting a
new league career record and leading Oakland to an all-time record
17th consecutive Summit League victory. In the win at
South Dakota State, Benson blocked three shots to become the
league's career leader with 320. He also scored 28 points on
12-of-17 shooting and pulled down 11 rebounds in 30 minutes. Two
nights later at North Dakota State, Benson scored 21 points with 11
boards, five blocked shots and three steals as the Golden Grizzlies
set the mark for consecutive league wins. For the week, Benson
averaged 24.5 points, 11 rebounds, four blocks, 1.5 steals and one
assist while shooting 62.5 percent.
