IPFW's Drake Named Player of the Week
ELMHURST, Ill. - IPFW's Kayla Drake was named Summit League Women's
Basketball Player of the Week for her performance during the week
of Jan. 18-24.

Drake collects her first career honor after recording a career
week for IPFW. In a win at South Dakota State, the sophomore set a
new Mastodon single-game school record with 10 steals, which is
also tied for the most steals in the NCAA this season. Drake
followed that up with a six-steal performance in a win at North
Dakota State. She also scored an IPFW career-high with 27 points
and grabbed eight rebounds, nearly recording a triple-double,
against the Jackrabbits. For the week, Drake averaged 19 points,
eight steals, 5.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists. She shot 47 percent
(9-of-19) from the field, 42 percent (5-of-12) from downtown and 83
percent (15-of-18) at the line. Drake also led IPFW to its 13th win
of the season, which ties the Division I school record.
