NDSU's Dyce, UMKC's Finnell Earn Weekly Awards

ELMHURST, Ill. - North Dakota State's Brooklyn Dyce and UMKC's Jami Finnell were named The Summit League's Offensive and Defensive Women's Soccer Players of the Week for their performances Oct. 3-9.


OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Brooklyn Dyce, North Dakota State
Jr., F (Winnipeg, Manitoba/Shattuck-St. Mary's)

Dyce collects her first career Offensive Player of the Week award helping North Dakota State keep its league record perfect at 4-0-0. In a 2-0 win over IUPUI, the junior tallied an insurance goal in the 58th minute while recording two assists in the shutout victory over Western Illinois. For the week, Dyce had one goal, two assists and four points. Dyce has now recorded at least one point in three-of-four Summit League matches.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Finnell earns her second career Defensive Player of the Week award and first on the season after guiding UMKC to a pair of wins last week and improving to a 4-0-0 league record. The junior collected five saves in a 2-1 win at IPFW and followed that up with four saves in a 2-0 blanking at Oakland, giving the Golden Grizzlies their first league loss of the season. In the Oakland match, she saved a penalty kick to keep the Kangaroos up 1-0 in the first half. Finnell leads the league with 98 saves on the year and has helped UMKC to a 6-5-3 overall record after winning just two matches combined in the previous two years.
