ORU's Grados, NDSU's Bertsch Earn Weekly Awards

ELMHURST, Ill. - Oral Roberts' Maria Grados and North Dakota State's Kalani Bertsch were named The Summit League's Offensive and Defensive Women's Soccer Players of the Week for their performances Oct. 10-16.


OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Maria Grados, Oral Roberts
Sr., F (Stillwater, Okla./Stillwater)

Grados collects her first career Offensive Player of the Week award after leading Oral Roberts to a pair of Summit League wins last week. In the 1-0 shutout over IUPUI, the senior scored the lone goal unassisted in the 67th minute. She followed that up by converting a penalty kick just 31 seconds into the second overtime period to secure a 2-1 victory over Western Illinois. For the week, Grados had two goals, both game-winners, and four points.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Kalani Bertsch, North Dakota State
Sr., GK (Ventura, Calif./St. Bonaventure)

Bertsch earns her second career Defensive Player of the Week award and first this season after recording two league shutouts to give the Bison sole possession of first place in the league standings. In the 3-0 win over IPFW, the senior made three saves and against Oakland she stopped a season-high eight shots in a 1-0 win. Bertsch lowered her goals against average to 0.84 on the year and is tied for first in school history and tied for fourth in Summit League history with eight shutouts on the year.
