ELMHURST, Ill. - IUPUI's Tony Carroll and South Dakota State's Ashley Valdez were named The Summit League's Swimming and Diving Athletes of the Week for their performances Oct. 18-24.
MEN'S ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Tony Carroll, IUPUI
Fr., Grander, Ind./St. Joseph's
Carroll garners his first career Swimming and Diving Athlete of the Week award after posting two individual event wins helping IUPUI defeat league opponent Eastern Illinois, 141-79. The freshman captured first-place finishes in the 200 Back (1:57.37) and the 200 IM (1:59.23)

WOMEN'S ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Ashley Valdez, South Dakota State
Sr., Eaton, Colo./Greeley Central
Valdez earners her first career Swimming and Diving Athlete of the Week honor after a first-place finish in the 100 Fly against Nebraska. She touched the wall with a time of 58.96, which is the second-fastest league time this season.
