ELMHURST, Ill. - IUPUI's Alex Young was named Summit League Player of the Week for his performance during the week of Dec. 5-11.

Young earned his third career honor and first of the season after averaging a week that included a career-high 43-point outburst in a victory over Western Kentucky. The 43 points scored by Young set a new IUPUI Division I era single-game record and was both the Division I high this season and the most points scored by a Summit League player since the 2008-09 season. Young connected on 14-of-20 field goal attempts, including three-of-five from beyond the arc, converted 12-of-13 free throw attempts and added nine rebounds, three steals and one assist. Earlier in the week at No. 5/4 Louisville, Young came off the bench to score nine points, pull down seven rebounds and total three assists and three steals in 25 minutes.
