ELMHURST, Ill. - IUPUI's Alex Young was named Summit League Player of the Week for his performance during the week of Dec. 19-23.

Young earned his fourth career honor and second of the season after averaging 24.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 2.0 steals and 2.0 blocked shots per game in victories over Ball State and Valparaiso. Again Ball State, Young scored 22 points and pulled down seven rebounds while adding two blocks. In the win over Valparaiso, Young totaled 27 points and a season-high six assists in addition to five rebounds, three steals and two blocks. Young, the NCAA's active leading career scorer, moved past the 1,900 career points plateau and ranks 12th in Summit League history.
