Oakland Records Fourth Straight Sweep of Weekly Swimming and Diving Awards
ELMHURST, Ill. - Oakland's Marcin Unold and Sandra Czerska were
named Summit League Swimming and Diving Athletes of the Week for
their performances during the week of Jan. 25-31.

Marcin Unold, Oakland

Unold earns his second award of the season
and 10th career honor after winning two individual and two relay
events as he helped the Golden Grizzles defeat Big Ten foe Michigan
State, ranked one place ahead of Oakland in latest CSCAA poll,
172-126. Individually, he won the 100 Back with a time of 48.79
and the 100 Free with a time of 44.95, both just shy of his already
league-best times in each event. Unold was also a part of the
first-place 200 IM relay team (1:30.66) and the 400 Free relay team
(3:00.90). His relay teams would have also set league-best but
were just shy of their already league-leading times.

Czerska garners her first Swimming and Diving Athlete of
the Week honor of the season and third career after capturing three
individual first-place finishes and leading her team past Big Ten
foe Michigan State, 199-99. She won the 100 Fly (56.21), 200 Fly
(2:03) and 200 IM (2:07.53), setting league best times in both Fly
events and recording the second-best league time in the 200 IM,
only 0.30 seconds shy of the top time.
