IUPUI's Modesitt, IPFW's Recht Claim Player of the Week Honors

ELMHURST, Ill. - IUPUI's Joel Modesitt and IPFW's Amy
Recht were named as The Summit League's men's and women's tennis
players of the week for their performances Feb. 8-14.

Modesitt receives his third career award and first of the
season after notching a singles victory over Ball State's Zane
Smith (3-6, 6-2, 6-4) at the No. 4 position. For the season,
Modesitt holds identical 4-5 records in both singles and doubles
play.

Amy Recht, IPFW
Sr., Fort Wayne, Ind./Homestead
Recht collects her ninth career award and first of the
season after going 2-0 in singles play and splitting her doubles
matches. Playing the No. 1 singles position, Recht notched
victories over Ball State's Georgina Thomson (6-4, 1-6, 6-2) and
Bowling Green's Christine Chiricosta (6-3, 6-3). In doubles play,
Recht teamed with Ingrid Ballus and posted an 8-5 victory of BSU's
Boullieris/Thomson tandem. For the season, Recht is 8-1 in singles
matches and 6-3 in doubles.
