IPFW's Cabrini, IUPUI's Mojsejev, UMKC's Bouet Named Players of the Week

ELMHURST, Ill. - IUPUI's Ivan Mojsejev and IPFW's Roberto Cabrini were named co-men's tennis players of the week and UMKC's Laura Bouet was named women's player of the week as announced by The Summit League for their performances Feb. 15-21.


Roberto Cabrini, IPFW
Jr., Sao Paulo, Brazil

Cabrini claims his first career honor after posting 3-0 records in both singles and doubles play during the week. Playing the No. 1 singles position, Cabrini notched three straight-set victories over Chicago State's Ankit Copra (6-2, 6-3), St. Francis (PA)'s Elahn Pogue (6-2, 6-0), and Detroit's Alex Latosinsky (6-1, 6-2). In doubles competition, Cabrini teamed with Francisco Sigaud for wins over CSU's Chopra/Chouardy (8-7 (2)), St. Francis' Pogue/Fleming (8-4) and UDM's Tolomei/Butts (8-2).


Ivan Mojsejev, IUPUI
Jr., Nova Sad, Serbia/Chicago State Univ.

Mojsejev receives his first career award after posting a straight-set victory at the No. 1 singles position. Against Detroit, Mojsejev recorded his first win of the spring and accounted for his team's point with a 6-2, 6-3 victory over Nick Tolomei.

Laura Bouet, UMKC

Bouet earns her first award of the season and third career honor after an undefeated week in singles and doubles. Against UALR, Bouet accounted for half of her team's wins in the match, scoring a singles victory at the No. 2 position over Veronique Luksich (7-5, 5-7, 6-3) and combining with Suzan Lisenby for a doubles triumph at No. 2 over the duo of Luksich/Steen-Rosten (8-2). Bouet is tied for third on UMKC's all-time list with 23 singles wins and is tied for fourth with 16 career doubles wins.
