SDSU's Young Named Women's Basketball Player of the Week
ELMHURST, Ill. - South Dakota State's Jill Young was named Summit
League Women's Basketball Player of the Week for her performance
during the week of Feb. 15-21.

Young earns Player of the Week honors for the first time in her
career after leading South Dakota State to a pair of road wins over
IPFW and Oakland. Against the Mastodons, Young recorded her first
career double-double with 15 points and a career-high 10 rebounds
from her guard position. The Mitchell, S.D., native also tallied 15
points, grabbed seven rebounds and dished out four assists in the
win over the Golden Grizzlies. For the week, Young averaged 15
points and 8.5 rebounds, while shooting 41 percent (9-of-22) from
the field, 47 percent (8-of-17) from behind the arc and 80 percent
(4-of-5) from the line. She also had an assist/turnover ratio of
4.0 with two assists and one steal per game. The Jackrabbits have
now won four games in a row and seven of their last eight.
