OU's Krych and IPFW's Cronin Garner Player and Pitcher of the Week Honors
ELMHURST, Ill. - Oakland's Kelsey Krych and IPFW's Courtney
Cronin were named Summit League Softball Player and Pitcher of the
Week for their performances during the week of Feb. 21-27.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Kelsey Krych, Oakland

Krych captures her first career Player of the Week award
after setting the school record for career stolen bases and tying
the single-game record she set against Tennessee Tech on Feb. 26,
2010. She stole four bases, including her 48th career
stolen base in game two of the Golden Grizzlies' doubleheader
victory over South Carolina State. Krych helped Oakland to four
victories on its 12-game opening road trip. She recorded at least
one hit in nine of the 12 games, including six multiple hit
performances. On the week, Krych recorded a .425 batting average
(17-for-40) with eight runs, five RBI and 10 stolen bases. She
holds the OU career stolen base record with 53 stolen bases.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Courtney Cronin, IPFW
Jr., North Delta, B.C., Canada/North Delta Senior Secondary
Cronin earns her fourth career Pitcher of the Week honor
and her first of the season after opening the season undefeated
(3-0) with three shutouts, helping the Mastodons win the North
Carolina A&T Invitational and being named the tournament MVP.
On the weekend, the right-handed hurler threw three complete game
shutouts giving up seven hits, four walks and fanning 16 batters in
19.0 innings of work. Cronin currently holds a streak of 21
straight innings without allowing a run. From the plate, she
helped her cause batting a .333 with a team-leading four RBI, two
runs scored and two extra base hits, including a homer and a
double.
