IUPUI's Young Named Player of the Week
ELMHURST, Ill. - IUPUI's Alex Young was named Summit League
Player of the Week for his performance during the week of Jan.
31-Feb. 6.

Young earned his second honor of the season and of his career
after averaging 27 points, seven rebounds and three assists per
game while leading IUPUI past the top two teams in The Summit
League standings. In a win over IPFW that moved his team into
second place, Young scored 23 points on eight-of-12 (.667) shooting
to go along with five rebounds and four assists. Young then struck
for 31 points, one short of his career-high, while converting
11-of-20 shot attempts, adding nine rebounds, two assists and two
steals to lead IUPUI to a win over Oakland that snapped its record
20-game league win streak. For the week, Young shot 59.4 percent
from the floor (19-of-32), connected on 15-of-16 free throw
attempts and one-of-two three pointers. He also moved into
sixth-place on IUPUI's career scoring list.
