South Dakota State Sweeps Swimming and Diving Athletes of the Week

ELMHURST, Ill. - South Dakota State's Chris Schreier and Erin Eagen were named Summit League Swimming and Diving Athletes of the Week for their performances during the week of Feb. 1-7.


MEN
Chris Schreier, South Dakota State

Fr., Portage, Ind./Portage
Schreier captures his third Swimming and Diving Athlete of the Week award of the season after setting two school records and posting two top-three finishes at the Minnesota Challenge. He finished second only behind one of No. 15 Minnesota's swimmers in the 200 Fly with a time of 1:51.47, breaking the record he set earlier this season. Schreier also recorded a third-place finish in the 400 IM touching the wall at 4:04.99, breaking the previous school record which has stood since 2006. In both events, he recorded the second-fastest league time this season.

Eagan earns her first career Swimming and Diving Athlete of the Week honor after recording two top-five finishes in the 1-meter and 3-meter dive and setting a school record in the 3-meter at the Minnesota Challenge. She took fourth place out of 34 divers on the 3-meter board with 265.80 points, a school record and the fourth-best league mark this season. Eagen also recorded a fifth-place finish in the 1-meter dive with a score of 250.85, only 2.5 points shy of the school record.
