IUPUI Sweeps Softball Player and Pitcher of the Week Awards

ELMHURST, Ill. - IUPUI's Hannah Croucher and Nikki Thomas were named Summit League Softball Player and Pitcher of the Week for their performances during the week of March 7-13.


PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Hannah Croucher, IUPUI
Jr., LF (Carmel, Indiana/Carmel)
Croucher captures her first career Player of the Week award after leading the IUPUI offense to a 2-1 record against Centenary to open league play. The junior left-fielder picked up at least one hit in all three games on the weekend, including back-to-back multiple hit games to end the series. In the Jaguars first win over the Ladies, she went 2-for-4 with two extra base hits, a double and a homer, three runs scored and two RBI. To end the series, she recorded two more hits in three at-bats with a homer, 5 RBI and one run scored. For the weekend, Croucher batted .500 (5-for-10) with a 1.200 slugging percentage with three extra base hits, seven RBI, four runs scored and three stolen bases.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Nikki Thomas, IUPUI
Fr., RHP (Indianapolis, Ind./Southport)
Thomas garners her first career Pitcher of the Week honor after posting a 1-1 record against Centenary. She threw a complete game as the Jaguars fell 1-0 to the Ladies in the first game of the series allowing only one earned run and two hits and striking out 11 batters. In the final game of the series, Thomas recorded the win giving up only one hit and no earned runs, while fanning six batters at the plate in four innings of work. On the weekend, she posted a 0.64 ERA, giving up three hits and one earned run with 17 strikeouts and four walks in 11 innings of work.
