UMKC's Hasandedic and SDSU's Nasenbeny Named Players of the Week

ELMHURST, Ill. - UMKC's Nino Hasandedic and South Dakota State's
Bryna Nasenbeny were named men's and women's tennis players of the
week as announced by The Summit League for their performances March
8-14.

Hasandedic earns his second award of the season in his
Summit League campaign after collecting a pair of singles victories
and a doubles win during the week. Playing the No. 1 singles
position, Hasandedic rolled to a straight-set win over Wichita
State's Vlad Marinescu (6-3, 6-2) and rallied to defeat Saint
Louis' Joe Flanagan (4-6, 6-2, 6-1). His lone loss came to Calin
Paar of #31 Nebraska (4-6, 6-7). At No. 1 doubles, Hasandedic
teamed with Grant Fleming for an 8-6 victory over the WSU duo of
Mihai/Marinescu. Hasandedic owns a 6-3 singles record this
spring.

Nasenbeny earns her first career award after collecting
four singles victories and three doubles wins during the Orlando
Classic. Playing the No. 3 singles position, Nasenbeny scored a
trio of straight-set victories over opponents from Mount St. Mary's
(Kelly Conroy, 6-4, 6-1), St. Joseph's (Maggie Mullaney, 6-4, 6-2)
and Indianapolis (Meghan Teums, 6-1, 6-1) and added a win over
Bucknell's Elena Vidrascu (6-2, 3-6, 10-6). In doubles play,
Nasenbeny teamed for wins over St. Joseph's Walsh/Dowd (8-2),
Florida A&M's Gomez/Holt (8-4) and Indianapolis' Barger/Teums
(8-4). Nasenbeny improved her season singles record to 5-4.
