IPFW's Kang and Vescovi Named Players of the Week
ELMHURST, Ill. - IPFW's Daniel Kang and Raquel Vescovi were
named men's and women's player of the week as announced by The
Summit League for their performances March 1-7.
Daniel Kang, IPFW
Fr., Brampton, Ontario/Boca Prep (FL)
Kang earns his first career award after posting a 2-0
singles record and 2-0 doubles mark during the week. Playing the
No. 3 singles position, Kang defeated St. Bonaventure's Elliot
Fanshel (6-7 (4), 6-1, 7-6 (9)) and Niagara's Joseph Zelic (6-2,
6-1). Kang teamed with Junya Saruta for wins over SBU's
Fanshel/Yanez (8-6) and NU's Sarrasin/Zelic (8-4).

Raquel Vescovi, IPFW

Vescovi claims her first award of the season after
compiling 2-0 records in singles and doubles play during the week.
Playing the No. 3 singles position, Vescovi bested Bucknell's
Lauren Rotkamp (2-6, 6-4, 10-8) and St. Bonaventure's Amanda
Palikunnel (6-2, 6-2). At No. 3 doubles, Vescovi teamed with Yuka
Kobayashi for 8-3 wins over BU's Dwojewski/Vidrasou and SBU's
Archer/Kvas.
