UMKC's Ristivojevic and IPFW's Recht Earn Final Player of the Week Honors

ELMHURST, Ill. - UMKC's Serge Ristivojevic and IPFW's Amy Recht
were named men's and women's tennis players of the week as
announced by The Summit League for their performances April 12-18.
The honors mark the final weekly awards of the season.
Serge Ristivojevic, UMKC
Sr., Orchard Hills, Australia/Kingswood
Ristivojevic earns his first award of the season and
second of his career after completing a 3-0 week, including a pair
of league victories. Playing the No. 3 singles position,
Ristivojevic notched a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Oral Roberts' Dmitry
Suslov before closing out the regular season with a 6-1, 5-7, 10-6
triumph over Western Illinois' Patrick Hammers. In doubles play,
Ristivojevic went 2-0, including a victory over WIU's No. 3 tandem.
During the week, Ristivojevic extended his winning streaks to eight
in singles and four in doubles. He enters The Summit League
Championship with an 11-7 overall singles record for the top-seeded
Kangaroos.

Recht collects her third honor of the season, tying her
for The Summit League record with 11 career Player of the Week
awards. She posted perfect 3-0 records, all against league foes, in
both singles and doubles play. At No. 1 singles, Recht notched a
trio of straight-set wins over Western Illinois' Marcela Brandao
(6-2, 6-2), Oral Roberts' Lina Semenova (7-5, 6-3) and South Dakota
State's Jenny Blackburne (6-2, 6-0). In doubles competition, Recht
teamed with Ingrid Ballus and posted wins over tandems from WIU
(6-3), IUPUI (8-2) and SDSU (8-3). Along the way, Recht extended
winning streaks to 12 in singles and 18 in doubles. She enters The
Summit League Championship with a 23-4 singles record and 22-4
doubles mark for the top-seeded Mastodons.
