ELMHURST, Ill. - IUPUI's Dan Klingenberg and UMKC's Laura Bouet were named men's and women's tennis players of the week as announced by The Summit League for their performances March 29-April 4.


Dan Klingenberg, IUPUI

Klingenberg earns his first career award after helping lead IUPUI to a 5-2 Summit League victory over IPFW. Playing the No. 3 singles position, Klingenberg notched a 6-3, 1-6, 6-0 victory over the Mastodons' Dean Guyer. In doubles play, Klingenberg teamed with Ivan Mojsejev for an 8-2 triumph at No. 3 over IPFW's tandem of Guyer and Kanavos.

Bouet collects her second award of the season and fourth career honor after posting identical 4-0 singles and doubles records in Summit League play while leading UMKC to four wins during the weekend cluster. Playing the No. 2 singles position, Bouet recorded four straight-set wins, topping Oral Roberts' Lina Semenova (6-4, 6-0), Western Illinois' Jill Furlong (6-0, 6-1), South Dakota State's Brooke Henry (6-0, 6-3) and Oakland's Jackie Dinicu (6-1, 6-3). In doubles play, Bouet teamed with Suzan Lisenby to post wins over the duos from ORU (8-1), WIU (8-3), SDSU (7-2, ret.) and OU (8-2). Bouet's singles victories give her 16 on the season, tying for second before her own school-record 18. She already owns the UMKC mark for career singles victories with 34. Her season (16) and career (27) doubles win totals are both second all-time in school annals.
