UMKC's Ussary and Oakland's Doyle Earn Softball Player and Pitcher of the Week Honors
ELMHURST, Ill. - UMKC's Megan Ussary and Oakland's Brittany
Doyle were named Summit League Softball Player and Pitcher of the
Week for their performances during the week of April 26-May 1.

Ussary
captures her second career Player of the Week award and second this
season after leading UMKC to a sweep (2-0) of IUPUI with two
multi-hit games. Ussary opened the series a perfect 3-for-3 with
four RBI, two runs scored, two stolen bases and a home run. In
game two, the third baseman went 2-for-4 with a run scored and one
stolen base. For the weekend, Ussary recorded a .714 batting
average (5-for-7) and a 1.143 slugging percentage with a homer,
four RBI, three runs scored and three stolen bases. With her two
multi-hit games, she extended her hitting streak to eight and leads
her team with 14 multi-hit games this season.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Brittany Doyle, Oakland

Doyle captures Pitcher of the Week for the first time this
season and the second of her career after posting a pair of
complete game wins last week and helping her team win its series
(2-1) over then-league-leading IPFW. She opened the week with a
victory over Big Ten opponent Michigan State with four strikeouts,
while surrendering nine hits, three earned runs and no walks. In
her second start of the week, she completed a victory against IPFW,
while allowing five hits, one earned run and fanning five. For the
week, Doyle posted a perfect 2-0 record with two complete games,
striking out nine and yielding four earned runs in 14.0 innings for
a 2.00 ERA.
