USD's Teslow, NDSU's Moenkedick Earn First Women's Soccer Awards
ELMHURST, Ill. - South Dakota's Jenny Teslow and North Dakota
State's Abbey Moenkedick were named The Summit League's Offensive
and Defensive Women's Soccer Players of the Week for their
performances Aug. 19-21, marking the initial awards of the 2011
season.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Jenny Teslow, South Dakota
So., F (Sioux Falls, S.D./Washington)
Teslow records her first career Offensive Player of the Week
award after providing all the offense in a 3-2 loss at North Dakota
last week. The sophomore forward scored both Coyote goals, one
coming in each half. Her two goals and four points lead the league
after the first weekend of competition.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Abbey Moenkedick, North Dakota State

Moenkedick collects her sixth career Defensive Player of the
Week honor after leading the Bison to a 1-0 shutout victory over
Missouri Valley Conference foe Northern Iowa. The senior anchored a
backline that limited UNI to just four shots in the match and only
one on goal. Her performance helped NDSU to its first
season-opening shutout win since 2007.
